The new Cayman makes its debut with TechArt.
The International Motor Show (IAA) later this month will play host to a wide range of automakers and aftermarket companies, one of which will be TechArt. The German tuner will be showcasing their new Porsche Cayman (981) upgrade program that sports a wide range of aerodynamic and styling upgrades that sets it apart from the rest of the pack.
The exterior design of the new TechArt Porsche Cayman is more dynamic and athletic than ever before thanks to a full aerodynamic kit. The featured part is the new Rear Spoiler II that allows the driver to adjust the angle of it in two stages at the push of a button for variable downforce. The new spoiler works in conjunction with the rear diffuser trim and Front Spoiler I with integrated air duct and splitter to reduce lift and improve high speed stability. For styling, TechArt can install a set of side mirror trims and upright fins for the rear wheel arches.
TechArt also offers a wide range of wheel packages for the 981-generation Porsche Cayman that completes the athletic appearance of the sports car. The classic five-spoke TechArt Formula light alloy wheels and weight-optimized TechArt Formula III forged wheels are available in single- or two-tone color finishes in 21-inch diameters. TechArt will also be offering their Formula IV light alloy forged wheels in the near-future for the Cayman. The upgraded wheel fitment can be complemented by a new set of TechArt Sport Spring Kit that lowers the sports car by 35 mm with the standard suspension and 25 mm on models equipped with PASM.
The engine was not neglected by the German tuner. Both flat-six engines can be outfitted with a new valve-controlled sport exhaust system that can be controlled by the driver at the push of a button and an optional pair of sport tailpipes in matte black.
Inside, drivers have the ability to custom-tailor the entire interior. TechArt offers a wide range of leather, alcantara, and stitching options with various material trim sets that can be optionally painted. Drivers benefit from a new three-spoke sport steering wheel with TechArt paddle shifters for greater control than the factory unit.
The new TechArt Porsche Cayman (981) will be shown at the 2013 International Motor Show in Frankfurt from September 12th to 22nd with all the aforementioned upgrades.
