Who will win the great battle of gasoline vs. Electric?
It wasn’t too long ago that the internet was stirring with debate over a video that was posted showing a new Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat losing to a Tesla Model S P85D in a drag race. Such are drag races.
Well, thankfully we have a rematch of the two foes that will surely garner just as much attention and varying opinions as the prior video. The rear-wheel drive Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat and its supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 with 707 horsepower went up against an all-electric, all-wheel drive Tesla Model S P85D with 691 horsepower once again.
The only modification done between the two is that the Dodge is wearing a set of drag radial tires.
After punching it at the light, the Tesla gets off to a quick start only to have the Challenger catch up and pass it down the strip.
In the end, the Dodge had an 11.08 second time at 125.92 mph while the Tesla ran past in 11.926 seconds at 112.11 mph.
Let the drag debate begin!
