Because more sport is always better.
BMW is making their ultimate driver’s cars even better with the new Competition Package from the track wizards at BMW M GmbH. The BMW M3, M4 Coupe, and M4 Convertible will all be able to benefit from the new hardware and goodies in the Competition Package starting in the spring of 2016, just in time to tear up the summer streets.
The turbocharged inline-six-cylinder engines in the BMW M3/M4 models will all get a healthy boost up to 444 horsepower that effectively sheds 0.1 seconds from the three models’ 0-60 mph sprint times. The fastest accelerating models will be the M3 Sedan and M4 Coupe with the 7-speed M Double Clutch Transmission (M-DCT) with a 3.8-second time.
Power is only part of the fun with the new BMW Competition Package. Handling has been a hallmark of BMW’s M-models and it gets even better thanks to new springs, dampers, and anti-roll bars paired up with re-tuned driving modes. The Active M Differential that comes standard on all three models and the DSC Dynamic Stability Control have both been tuned to accommodate for the new hardware.
Gripping the pavement are new 265/30 R20 front and 285/30 R20 rear sport tires on forged 9.0J x 20 and 10.0J x 20 multi-spoke M-alloy wheels featuring a machine-polished finish.
Visually, the BMW M3 and M4 models equipped with the Competition Package will boast black chrome tailpipes as part of the M sports exhaust system that emit a mean rumble. Elsewhere, BMW Individual high-gloss Shadow Line exterior trim is worn on the exterior along with high-gloss Black window trim, window recess finishers, side mirror frames, side gills, rear badging, and front kidney grille.
Inside, the BMW M3 Sedan, M4 Coupe, and M4 Convertible with the Competition Package gain new lightweight M sports seats with generous support and bolstering along with special seatbelts with unique BMW M stripes woven into the fabric.
The new BMW Competition Package will be priced at $5,500 for the M3 Sedan and M4 Coupe, while the upgrade for the M4 Convertible will cost $5,000.
