Two of the most exciting cars in the Subaru lineup are easily the WRX STI and BRZ. The two sports cars have all the goods to put a smile on your face both inside and out of the driver’s seat, and now they’re getting even better with the new Subaru Series.HyperBlue limited-edition models.
The Subaru Series.HyperBlue WRX STI has the same turbocharged 2.5-liter flat-four with 305 horsepower and 290 lb-ft. of torque as the standard model as well as the Multi-Mode Driver Controlled Center Differential (DCCD), Active Torque Vectoring, Brembo Brakes and other goodies. However, its cool blue exterior and interior color scheme make it stand out from the crowd.
The Series.HyperBlue WRX STI features a full HyperBlue exterior paint paired with 18-inch black BBS alloy wheels, black badging, and black-painted side mirrors. Inside, the factory Alcantara seats, steering wheel, manual transmission boot, console, and floor mats with Cherry Red STI logo all sport special blue stitching. The Series.HyperBlue WRX STI also comes with Keyless Access with Push Button Start and PIN Code Access along with Welcome Lighting.
The smaller, more nimble sibling to the WRX STI also gets the exclusive touch. The HyperBlue paint adorns the entire body of the BRZ, save for the gloss black badging and black-painted side mirrors, while 17-inch black alloy wheels provide some additional contrast. The same 2.0-liter flat-four producing 200 horsepower and 151 lb-ft. of torque still remains as well.
Inside, the Series.HyperBlue BRZ gains HyperBlue leather seat bolsters and head restrains to create the perfect mix of leather and Alcantara. Exclusive blue stitching is intertwined in the seats, steering wheel, shift boot, handbrake, and carpeted floor mats with BRZ logo. Blue also adorns the center console knee pads and door trims. Silver BRZ logos also stand out on each of the front seatbacks. Each Series.HyperBlue BRZ also sports a frameless rear-view mirror, simulated carbon fiber center dashboard panel, and illuminated start/stop button.
Both standard and Series.HyperBlue BRZ models will come with the 2016-model-year with the Starlink 6.2-inch Multimedia System, Smartphone integration, and standard rear-view camera.
The new Subaru Series.HyperBlue WRX STI and BRZ might not come packed with more power, but they have the looks to set them apart from the pack and make them even more enjoyable to drive.
The Subaru Series.HyperBlue WRX STI will be limited to just 700 units while the BRZ will be limited to 500 units. Pricing and sales for both limited-edition vehicles will start in the fall of 2015.
