A German executive sport sedan.
The Audi and Volkswagen specialists at Hofele Design have unveiled a new tuning program for the new Audi A8 D4 executive sedan. The new kit adds a few distinct touches to the interior and exterior of the A8 while also increasing power on both diesel and gasoline engine variants.
The Hofele Design Audi SR 8 doesn’t go over-the-top with its exterior styling package. Instead the additions are rather subtle compared to sportier variations. The new front bumper is given an “RS5” look with optional larger air intakes to improve airflow to the intercoolers. At the rear of the SR8 sits a trunk spoiler and a new bumper with integrated diffuser insert. The diffuser can be painted in a wide range of colors or left in a naked carbon fiber finish. Instead of the brushed aluminum mirror caps featured on the S- and RS-models from Audi, Hofele has given the mirrors a carbon fiber treatment.
The bodywork can be complimented by a range of Hofele Design wheels ranging from 9J x 20 to 10J x 22 at the front or rear axles. To ensure a proper stance, the Audi A8 can be fitted with an ETS electronic-lowering module. The module lowers the car by 40 mm at speeds up to 43.5 mph, where it is then deactivated and the car returns to its normal ride height.
Both diesel and gasoline engine variants can be tuned in the Hofele Audi SR 8. In the 4.2 TDI, the output can be pushed all the way to 385 horsepower and earth-turning 664 lb-ft. of torque. In the gasoline 4.2 FSI V-8, output rises to 385 horsepower with the Hofele engine software optimization program. In addition, customers can order a quad-tailpipe sports muffler for a viscous exhaust note.
The interior of the SR 8 can be fitted with special two-tone leather from Hofele Design. Each of the seats wear a quilted nappa leather center strips in a contrasting color. Customers can order materials such as rough leather, alcantara, and nappa leather with contrasting stitching for the seats, steering wheel, and door panels.
The entire Hofele Design Audi SR 8 is available as a complete package or as individual options. All of the components can be fitted to gasoline or diesel variants of the Audi A8.
