Custom-tailored from the inside-out.
Shortly after the debut of the Koenigsegg Agera XS during the Monterey Car Week, the Swedish automaker is putting their first Agera RS destined for European delivery on display at the Salon Privé Concours d’Elégance at Blenheim Palace, from September 1-3. Named ‘Naraya’ after an important name in the customer’s family, the Agera RS is a truly custom, high-end exotic with details that dazzle.
It’s not often that cars, even cars of this prestige, get the level of customization that the Koenigsegg Agera RS Naraya has inside and out. The entire body is made from blue-tinted clear-finished carbon fiber with gold leaf decorating specific highlights inside and out. For the first time ever for Koenigsegg, the carbon fiber tub was given the same blue tint as the body for a uniform, exotic look.
But arguably the most eye-catching, intricate detail is the gold leaf seen inside and out. Ettore ‘Blaster’ Callegaro, a famed craftsman from Italy that has been working with customized vehicles for years, was given the task of hand-applying the gold leaf. For two full weeks, Callegaro worked 12-hours days, six times per week gluing the leaf to the parts before ‘turning’ the material by hand with a small tool. The gold leaf was then given multiple layers of protective clear coat.
The interior of the Koenigsegg Agera RS Naraya also features the same blue and gold treatment as the exterior. Blue alcantara is featured throughout with contrasting gold piping while gold highlights and an 18-carat yellow gold Naraya nameplate with 155 cultured diamonds from Ada Diamonds in California stands out with its shimmer.
While the high level of customization and detailing sets the Agera RS Naraya apart from the “standard” Koenigsegg models, the twin-turbocharged V-8 sitting behind the cockpit offers more of the same excitement we’ve come to love from the Swedish automaker. A whopping 1,160 horsepower and 944 lb-ft. of torque is sent through the CIMA seven-speed gearbox and Koenigsegg E-differential, while the brand’s traction and stability control systems work to keep everything in a straight line.
In addition to the Agera RS Naraya, Koenigsegg will also have their blue-tinted One:1 and the final Agera R ever produced on display at the Salon Privé Concours d’Elégance.
