Carbon fiber, power, and prestige.
Mansory’s focus for the new Porsche Macan is the same as many of its vehicle programs: add on in-house autoclaved carbon fiber body work, increase the power, give the interior a custom-tailored touch, and pump up the chassis. It’s a relatively simple but very effective equation to creating a very exclusive vehicle, and their new Porsche Macan is just that.
The Porsche Macan might have a smaller stature than other SUVs and crossovers, but Mansory’s carbon fiber body work gives it a powerful and commanding presence. Almost every aerodynamic piece is made from prepreg autoclave carbon fiber that results in an almost perfect surface quality, high strength, and low overall weight. The in-house autoclave also gives Mansory full control over the quality and freedom over each part for a superior product.
The new Mansory Porsche Macan boasts a dynamic front fascia thanks to a new front spoiler, larger air intakes with integrated LED daytime running lights, and carbon fiber grilles and hood vents. Power is emphasized even further with the addition of extended and vented front and rear fenders connected by a set of side skirts. The rear is also more athletic thanks to a new spoiler lip and roof spoiler to improve stability at high speeds. Beneath the carbon fiber spoilers sits a new diffuser insert that surrounds the new Mansory sport exhaust system.
Beneath the beltline of the Macan sits a range of wheel options and lowered suspension. Mansory’s choice for a mix of comfort and style is the 22-inch Spider monoblock cast wheel wrapped in 265/35 R22 front and 295/30 R22 rear Vredestein tires. To make those wheels fit snug inside of the extended fenders, Mansory gave the Porsche Macan a modified air suspension module that reduces the ride height by 40 mm.
But the real fun behind the wheel starts under the hood for both the Porsche Macan Turbo and Macan S Diesel. The 3.6-liter, twin-turbocharged V-6 engine of the Turbo model benefits from a Mansory power box that creates 464 horsepower at 6,000 RPM and 479 lb-ft. of torque from 1,300 to 4,500 RPM. That equates to a 0-62 mph acceleration time of just 4.5 seconds and can reach a top speed of 170 mph.
The Porsche Macan S Diesel and its 3.0-liter turbodiesel V-6 also benefit from the Mansory power box. A total of 310 horsepower from 3,500 to 4,000 RPM is generated along with a monstrous 516 lb-ft. of torque from 1,500 to 2,500 RPM. This allows the oil-burning crossover to reach 62 mph in 5.6 seconds from rest and hit a top speed of 162 mph.
Inside, the center of attention for the Mansory Porsche Macan is an ergonomic sports steering wheel that offers up more control and a better feel. The entire cabin can also be custom-tailored to each individual with a range of materials in different colors and designs.
The new Mansory Porsche Macan is currently available from Mansory Switzerland.
