While G-Power may specialize in upgrading and tuning BMW models, they also have quite a few upgrades for select Mercedes-Benz and AMG models. The iconic, boxy G-Class is one of them, and their G63 AMG version got pushed past the 600-horsepower mark.
The hand-built 5.5-liter V-8 engine that powers the 4×4 Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG packs more than enough of a punch from the factory to get the job done on the road, but G-Power decided to give drivers a little something extra with their Bi-Tronik 5 V1 auxiliary control unit. The module adjusts data before it’s received by the factory ECU and only activates once proper temperatures are reached. If coolant and/or oil temperatures reach higher limits, the system reverts back to the factory settings. The diagnostic system is also unaffected as well.
But the real fun is in the numbers for the G-Power Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG. The twin-turbocharged V-8 engine produces a whopping 645 horsepower at 5,500 RPM and 664 lb-ft. of torque from 2,500 to 4,500 RPM. That’s good enough to send the SUV to 62 mph in just 5.2 seconds, which, for an off-road monster like this, is very impressive. Top speed also exceeds 155 mph, which is unheard of for a rolling box.
In addition to the engine upgrades, the team at G-Power also gave the G63 AMG a bit more flair. Hitting the pavement, dirt, mud, and everything in between are new Hurricane RR forged alloy wheels that measure 11.0 x 23 at the front and rear. The black-finished, five double-spoke alloys are also shod in 305/35 ZR23 tires.
The new G-Power Bi-Tronik 5 V1 engine tuning module is currently available for 5,796 euros for the Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG. The Hurricane RR wheel and tire combo is also available for 8,391 euros as well.
