Mercedes-Benz just released the new W166 generation ML-Class SUV and the three-pointed star specialists at Kicherer have unveiled their new aerodynamic styling program for the mid-size SUV called the “IMPACT.” Although no power upgrades are currently available, the widebody design provides all the muscle you’ll need to drive through the asphalt jungle.
Smooth style is the name of the game for the new Kicherer ML. The German tuner developed a new body kit that is designed to fit the new SUV like a glove with an OEM quality fitment. Both sides of the Kicherer ML are widened thanks to bulging fenders connected by a set of new side skirts. The front wears a new bumper with integrated LED daytime running lights and larger air intakes. Kicherer redesigned the rear bodywork to flow harmoniously with the original design cues and new fenders through the use of a new bumper with diffuser insert and quad trapezoid tailpipes. Much of the exterior also wears naked carbon fiber components to visually add a touch of sport.
For the finishing touch, the Kicherer ML was given a new set of massive wheels and lowered suspension. A new set of in-house, 22-inch RS2 five-spoke aluminum alloy wheels replace the stock wheels and fill in the additional space in the widened wheel wells. After a quick tune to the electronic suspension system, the Mercedes-Benz ML can be lowered by 25 mm for a better center of gravity and stance.
The IMPACT upgrade program for the Mercedes-Benz ML also features new interior upgrades from Kicherer. Customers have the option of ordering a range of nappa leather, alcantara, and carbon fiber for the seating, panels, dashboard and more to create a sporty interior to suit their tastes.
The Kicherer ML IMPACT aerodynamic kit will be available for ordering in the summer of 2012 for all W166 models.
