Now that the McLaren MP4-12C has been out on the market for some time, new McLaren tuning programs are starting to pop up all over. Each one features new wheels, more power, and a few new spoilers. Mansory wanted to differentiate themselves from the competition and succeeded in doing so by giving the British super car a new carbon fiber skin that slices through air.
Mansory’s newest creation made its official debut at the 82nd Geneva Motor Show amidst a pack of super cars. The Mansory MP4-12C was different, however. Instead of throwing on some spoilers and body work with hopes of aiding downforce, the German tuner designed an entirely new body kit using autoclave carbon fiber to reduce weight as much as possible.
The Mansory body kit gives the McLaren MP4-12C a totally new, more aggressive face. The standard hood was replaced with a carbon fiber unit and the front apron was upgraded and features larger air intakes and daytime running lights. Each side of the Mansory MP4-12C wears extended carbon fiber fenders that widen the car by 60 mm, carbon fiber mirror covers, and carbon fiber side skirts. A new carbon fiber rear spoiler and diffuser help generate a large amount of downforce and complete the exterior package.
With all that carbon fiber reducing weight, it was only logical that the standard wheels were replaced with forged wheels. The new wheels weigh less than the standard wheels but offer high strength characteristics due to their forged construction. For the front, Mansory installed the five double-spoke wheels in a 9.0J x 20 fitment with 245/30/ZR20 performance tires. The rear axle boasts an even wider 11Jx21 setup with 305/25/ZR21 tires.
The new carbon fiber upgrades are worthless unless you can go fast enough for them to work their magic. The McLaren tuning program significantly boosts the output of the twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter V-8 engine. The Mansory MP4-12C utilizes a new high-performance exhaust system, a reprogrammed ECU, and sports air filter system to increase power. The standard 592 bhp and 443 lb-ft. of torque soars to 661 bhp at 7,100 RPM and 498 lb-ft. from 3,000 to 6,500 RPM with the new modifications. Top speed also gets pushed back all the way to 219 mph.
The Mansory MP4-12C also comes with a fully customizable interior. Customers can choose from an array of fine leathers, alcantara, and stitching for both of the seats. Only high quality hides are selected then stitched by experienced craftsman. Real carbon fiber can be fitted throughout the interior along with aluminum pedals and a sports steering wheel with airbag.
The Mansory MP4-12C McLaren tuning program by Mansory is currently available as an upgrade only. Customers must provide the selected car for upgrades. Pricing has not been released.
