Flying off the track.
Pikes Peak International Hill Climb may be run on a paved course now, but that doesn’t mean that it’s still not incredibly dangerous going up the mountain as fast as you possibly can. Just ask Randy Pobst after his insane crash this year.
During his run in the Pikes Peak Racing 2009 Nissan GT-R in the Time Attack 2 class, Pobst – a very skilled and experienced driver – lost control and went off the road.
But this wasn’t just going off the road, this was going off a small cliff where a pond sat beneath.
Thankfully, Pobst was going so fast that the GT-R jumped over the pond and hit the muddy shore before coming to a rest.
Luckily, Pobst didn’t sustain any injuries from the crash that could’ve been deadly.
