German Muscle.
One of the most memorable models from Mercedes-Benz during the 1980s was the SEC models. The so called “over-engineered” big, coupes were a thing of beauty and had classic lines, a timeless design, and good old-fashioned German muscle behind them.
The team at ElectricFederal caught up with Arakelyan, an owner of a 1989 560 SEC with an AMG conversion. The car has been modified with the AMG body kit, AMG wheels, a bored 6.0-liter engine with AMG camshafts, AMG exhaust manifolds and downpipes, an upgraded rear end, and a transmission tune.
It usually gets less than 10 mpg, but Arakelyan doesn’t care. He owns his childhood dream car and looks for excuses to go drive the big, bad Mercedes-Benz coupe.
