Big, bad Bentley.
For the past few years, Bentley has been getting back into the performance game with their Continental models. The big coupes are capable of some pretty impressive speed and acceleration given their weight and stature, but the British automaker has taken steps to cut weight, improve aero, and up the power with models like the Continental GT3-R.
Mansory, however, has bigger plans in mind and it includes eclipsing the 1,000-horsepower mark, adding lots of carbon fiber, and refining the interior even more. The new Mansory GT Race takes the Continental GT into a hardcore luxury rocketship that breaks through the 200 mph barrier.
Right off the bat, the Mansory GT Race commands attention with its full lightweight carbon fiber upgrades that are manufactured in-house by the German company. The front fascia boasts a new bumper, integrated daytime running lights, and lightweight ventilated hood that hints at the massive power of the supercar. Extended front and rear fenders provide some visual muscle and are connected by new side skirts, while new side mirror housings cut through air.
At the rear, the Mansory GT Race sports a large bumper with integrated diffuser. The diffuser features numerous vertical fins and a dual, centrally-mounted exhaust outlet. A carbon fiber trunk helps to keep the weight down and forms the base for the newly-mounted GT3-style wing that generates a generous amount of downforce.
The newly-added carbon fiber goodies that slice and dice through air on the Mansory GT Race are complemented by a new set of fat wheels. Unique forged wheels measuring 10.0 x 22 at the front and rear are shod in sticky 295/30 ZR22 tires, giving you all the traction you’ll ever need for the all-wheel drive monster.
The blatantly showy looks of the Mansory GT Race are all backed up by a thundering amount of power. The twin-turbocharged, 6.0-liter W-12 engine was completely rebuilt and fitted with new pistons, camshafts, connecting rods, turbochargers, intercooler system, sport air intake system, and full exhaust system. A new engine and transmission management tune make it all work together and generate a whopping 1,001 horsepower at 6,000 RPM and 885 lb-ft. of torque at 2,100 RPM. That’s good for a 0-62 mph sprint time of 3.9 seconds and a top speed of 205 mph (330 km/h).
Although the performance and exterior of the Mansory GT Race screams ‘hardcore performance’, the interior is a more comfortable and inviting place to enjoy the power. The Mansory upholstery department can add on a wide range of custom-tailored leather, carbon fiber, and alcantara in a variety of stitching options. Other aspects such as an airbag sports steering wheel, aluminum pedals, and illuminated ‘Mansory GT Race’ door sills blend sport and luxury to perfectly match the opulence of a Bentley model.
The new Mansory GT Race based on the Bentley Continental GT is available as a complete upgrade program from the German company, not as individual accessories.
