Better looks and more speed.
Bentley has unveiled a new boost in power for the Continental GT Speed and a new Black Edition model just in time for those gorgeous summer drives. The team at Crewe was able to churn out even more power from the muscular W-12 engine of the Continental GT Speed and also took custom-tailored exclusivity to another level with the new Continental GT Speed Black Edition.
The polished 6.0-liter twin-turbocharged W-12 engine built by 30 craftsmen over 12 ½ hours in Crewe was given a bump in horsepower and torque by re-optimizing the boost control and other variables. The result was a total output of 633 horsepower and 620 lb-ft. of torque from 2,000 to 5,000 RPM for the Continental GT Speed. The added power also comes with an increase in performance with the 0-60 mph acceleration time dropping to 3.9 seconds, down from 4.1 seconds, and the top speed being pushed back to 206 mph.
In addition to the added British muscle, Bentley also unveiled the new Continental GT Speed Black Edition. The new variant allows customers to create an individual design using an array of new styling options for a high-end, dominating look.
“We have developed the GT Speed Black Edition to meet demand from customers for a model in the Continental line that offers both increased sporting capabilities and instantly recognizable styling cues. The Black Edition has a subtle but purposeful look that is backed up by exceptional performance,” said Paul Jones, Product Line Director for Continental GT.
The visual changes with the Bentley Continental GT Speed Black Edition starts with the customer’s specific body color choice contrasted by high-gloss black brightware seen on the window openings and lamp bezels. Black is also featured on the new 21-inch, five-spoke directional wheels rotating over red or black painted brake calipers. From there, customers can choose Hallmar, Beluga, St James’ Red or Cyber Yellow to be featured on the front splitter, side skirts, and rear diffuser. Optionally, color-matched door mirrors can also be added.
Inside, the same eye-catching contrasts make their presence felt. The center and roof consoles as well as the main fascia are all dressed in carbon fiber for that sportier feel. A special Black Edition color split can be seen on the seats and center console where contrasting leather in Porpoise, Beluga, Pillar Box Red, or Cyber Yellow is used. Each door panel and the optional Mulliner GT Design seats can be given a diamond-quilted design with contrasting stitching.
The more powerful Bentley Continental GT Speed and GT Speed Black Edition are currently available for order with deliveries starting in the summer of this year.
