At the 2010 Essen Motor Show, Russian tuning company Top Car proudly put their latest tuning program for the Porsche Cayenne on display. For six years Top Car has been tuning and developing products for Bentley, BMW, and Porsche models, with their previous-generation Cayenne Advantage and Cayenne Vantage GTR receiving much praise. With the new generation of Porsche Cayenne on the market, it only made sense for Top Car to build upon their previous success with the new Vantage GTR 2.
The most striking aspect of the entire program is that the Cayenne loses a door. In the name of style, the rear door on the driver’s side of the Cayenne is removed, creating the appearance of a coupe. On the passenger side of the Cayenne the rear door handle on the outside has been removed to retain the coupe-like appearance, but still opens to allow for rear seat entry.
The goal of the Vantage GTR 2 program is to create an intimidating and aggressive look for the Cayenne. To achieve this appearance, Top Car has designed a number of different aerodynamic components. The front bumper receives a new grille, designed to match the lower front spoiler and create a wide, powerful face. The hood is also new, and exudes strength with its contoured vents to cool the engine. Top Car has also given the Vantage GTR 2 widened fenders with air outlets to match the extended stance. New side sills help redirect airflow to the rear fenders where air inlets send cool air to the brakes. The rear of the SUV wears a new diffuser with integrated exhaust pipes, while a roof spoiler helps to reduce lift at the rear axle.
Top Car Tuning offers five different wheel and tire combinations, giving customers a wide range of customization options to complement the bodywork. The featured wheels are Top Car’s own 2 composite forged Design, available in 21- and 22-inch sizes. Gemballa Sport GT 20- and 22-inch wheels are also available.
The transformation isn’t just skin deep. Top Car will be providing an engine upgrade kit for the Cayenne Turbo that will increase power to 750 horsepower. Details on the kit have not been released.
The Top Car Porsche Vantage GTR 2 program will be limited to just 50 units. All bodywork is manufactured from carbon fiber and carbon Kevlar. Pricing has not been released, but for a list of components, visit http://www.top-car.ru/.
