A new batch of supercars from a very unlikely place.
When one mentions a “supercar valley” we often think of thick rolling hills with ribbons of two-lane roads. In our minds we hear the throaty growl of 8-, 10-, and 12-cylinder engines and imagine a bevy of small neat little factories nestled in between those hills. Let’s face it; Italy comes to mind first followed closely by Germany, Sweden and maybe the British Isles. If we stretch our imagination, we might be able to conjure up visions of acreage in California. Dig a little deeper and there may be a valley developing that you didn’t even suspect – the Slovenian Valley.
Since 2012, there have been happenings in the Republic of Slovenia from a small supercar firm called Tushek Cars founded by Aljosa Tusek. You may remember their first foray into the supercar world, the stunning Renovatio T500 revealed at the 2012 Top Marques Monaco event. A beautiful body, removable hard top, scissor doors easily made this a head-turner. The Audi-sourced 4.2-liter V-8, good for 450 horsepower married to a six-speed manual gearbox allowed for a 0-62 mph time of 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 193 mph, which turned head turning into neck-snapping.
Since then, the company has sent word about their next model, the Forego T700. The Forego T700 is said to weigh approximately 2,200 pounds and deliver upwards of 700 horsepower. In the photo posted on their Facebook page marked “working on”, there also appears to be an adjustable spoiler.
However, before the T700 can rear its powerful head, a new car has emerged from the Slovenian hills, the T600. The T600 is an evolved T500 but features enough new components to be a seperate model. The chassis is a mix of carbon and titanium, and there is enough grip to support up to 1.8-G of lateral acceleration.
There will be more specifics on the T600 at a later date. Like all of its cars, the T600 will be built by hand and can be individually tailored to meet the desires of its buyer. Now when I say “supercar valley” you have one more place to stretch your imagination.
