A couple of goodies make for a fun time.
Mercedes-Benz and the rest of the automakers around the globe are seeking to increase sales and fill in every conceivable niche, resulting in vehicles like the GLA-Class. The luxury compact crossover might not generate hundreds-of-thousands of sales immediately, but it certainly brings the three-pointed star to a less expensive segment in the marketplace. VAETH has already begun work on the Mercedes-Benz GLA and while it may not have crazy power, it still is quite a bit of fun.
The test subject for their newest conversion was a Mercedes-Benz GLA 200. VAETH took the turbocharged 1.6-liter inline-four engine up a notch thanks to a new V20 tuning kit that bumps power up to 181 horsepower and 229 lb-ft. of torque. That’s also paired up with a new 270 EVO exhaust system made from VA stainless steel. The exhaust features a new downpipe setup with 200-cell tri-metal catalytic converter for less backpressure. As an option, customers can also get an axle-back exhaust system with dual 110 x 90 mm oval tailpipes.
The next step in the fun formula sits beneath the beltline. VAETH gave the Mercedes-Benz GLA 200 a set of their one-piece wheels with 15 spokes and a gloss black finish. The new rollers were installed in a moderately-sized 8.5 x 18 front and 9.5 x 18 rear setup for a more aggressive setup than the factory. Behind those wheels sit new stainless steel brake lines with Castrol SRF racing fluid pumping through them.
While it may not seem like much, these few upgrades to the Mercedes-Benz GLA 200 from VAETH make for a more enjoyable and engaging ride. All of the upgrades are currently available from VAETH and you can expect more for the Mercedes-Benz GLA to come.
