The little coupe, that is.
Väth has a great deal of experience with the Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class four-door coupe, as well as the compact Mercedes-Benz A-Class models. So, when the German automaker unveiled its smaller, more affordable CLA-Class four-door coupe, their background came in handy. The new Väth V25 for the CLA-Class may not be the most powerful or attention-grabbing program on the market, but it promises a thrilling driving experience for everyone.
The basis for the conversion was the CLA 250 and its turbocharged inline-four cylinder engine that packs quite a bit of potential. The Väth team installed a new, specially-designed air filter kit along with a sport exhaust system with downpipes for reduced backpressure. After some engine tuning, the Väth V25 is capable of producing 261 horsepower (265 PS) and 310 lb-ft. of torque, allowing the four-door coupe to reach 62 mph in 5.9 seconds – over ten seconds faster than its stock counterpart and a 155 mph top speed. Customers can also opt for a moderate tune that yields 242 horsepower and 288 lb-ft. of torque, along with an optional stainless steel axle-back exhaust with polished oval tailpipe measuring 110 x 90 mm.
The Väth V25 sporty four-door compact also benefits from a nimble chassis. A set of club sports coilovers with adjustable shocks and 20- to 65 mm lowering offer the best handling dynamics, or customers can choose the more cost effective sport suspension that lowers the overall ride height by 30 mm. The factory wheels are replaced with a set of in-house three-piece wheels on the Väth V25. The wheels measure 8.0 x 20 with 225/30 ZR20 tires up front and 9.5 x 20 with 265/25 ZR20 tires at the rear for a bigger footprint and more grip. Behind the three-piece, two-tone wheels are new steel flex brake lines with Castrol SRF racing brake fluid running through them.
The Väth V25 doesn’t have complex and obnoxious body work that other tuning programs love to showcase. Instead the German company designed a subtle carbon fiber spoiler lip to reduce lift at the front axle and a small tail spoiler to generate downforce.
Inside, the Väth V25 can be fitted with a few bits and pieces that make driving a bit more fun. A sports steering wheel in leather, carbon fiber or wood, faces the driver while an optional 300 km/h speedometer can also be installed. Furnishing the floor is a black velvet wear-resistant floor mat with silver Väth logo.
All of the featured products on the Väth V25 are available for the Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class models. The 261 horsepower tune is available for 4,950.40 Euros, while the mild tune is priced at 940.10 Euros, and the optional exhaust is 1,249.50 Euros. The club sports suspension costs 3,546.20 Euros, the brake upgrade 464.10 Euros, and the wheel set is 5,997.60 Euros for all four three-piece wheels. Pricing for other accessories are available at the Väth website.
