Luckily, there were no injuries.

Drag racing does not mix very well with rain. It’s just like oil and water but a lot more dangerous. Even supercars like the Nissan GT-R with all-wheel drive, launch control, and a lightning-fast dual-clutch transmission can be a handful on wet pavement. Just ask the driver of a GT-R at the Unlimited 500+ drag race in Russia.

A pair of Nissan GT-Rs went head-to-head at the drag strip during the show race portion of the Unlimited 500+ event in which drivers were warned of the hazardous conditions. After a successful launch, the car lost traction, causing the driver to swerve right into the barrier, hitting it head-on. The crash spun the car and sent it into the other lane farther down the track where it came to rest.

Luckily, the drive did not sustain any injuries and was given a medical examination afterwards.
