Beating the record by over a minute.
If you thought there was nothing happening in the world of motorsports this weekend after the 24 Hours of Le Mans had ended, you were dead wrong. The 2013 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb was going on and there was one team that was looking to set a new record in the Race to the Clouds.
Sebastian Loeb and the Peugeot team put together a mind-bogglingly fast 208 T16 Pikes Peak racer with the goal of shattering the record. In 2012, Rhys Millen had set the bar high at an impressive 9:46.164 time, breaking the 10-minute barrier that stood for quite a while.
But that wasn’t even close to what Loeb and his Peugeot were able to pull off. The team grabbed an amazing 8’13″878, obliterating the old record by well over one minute.
Congrats to Peugeot and Sebastian Loeb for the amazing feat! Hopefully we will see you back next year to break the eight-minute mark!
