Making tire smoke at the Festival of Speed.
Ferrari and McLaren have both unveiled high-performance, track-only specials made just for select customers as part of their exclusive customer racing programs. Aston Martin also got in on the mix and publicly unveiled their newest super car at the 2015 Goodwood Festival of Speed.
The Aston Martin Vulcan is designed only for the race track and sports a naturally-aspirated, 7.0-liter V-12 engine pumping out over 800 bhp. That’s paired up with a six-speed sequential gearbox, which allows the rear-wheel drive British monster to reach 60 mph in less than 3.0 seconds and hit a top speed over 200 mph. Plus it’s wrapped in all sorts of lightweight carbon fiber aerodynamics that slice and dice through air along with a carbon fiber monocoque.
The 2015 Goodwood Festival of Speed proved to be the perfect place to debut the new track-only super car. As spectators lined the grass hills, the Aston Martin Vulcan spun its tires and let out a viscous V-12 roar on different sections of the track, draped in satin black paint.
Now we’re just waiting to see it rip of tracks around the globe!
