Now that’s fast!
Remember back in 2008 when Nissan and Porsche were engaged in quite a heated debate over the GT-R’s claimed 7:29 Nürburgring Nordschleife lap time? Boy have things changed in seven years. Now, that time has been broken by a car that’s not considered a super car – the BMW M4 GTS.
With BMW M engineer Joerg Weidinger behind the wheel of the track-focused BMW M4 GTS, he was able to lay down a very impressive fast lap time of 7:27.88.
The 493-horsepower sports car is designed form the ground-up to take on the track. Focused aerodynamics, lightweight materials, tuned and upgraded suspension bits, and an engine that utilizes an innovative water-injection system helps put it at the front of the pack with much higher-priced super cars.
As an added benefit, Weidinger also narrates exactly how he drove the BMW M4 GTS around the ‘Ring, so you too can get the inside scoop on how to accomplish the same feat.
