Runnin’ the bull through the Green Hell.
The seven-minute mark is something that has stood strong as an unbreakable barrier for decades on the Nürburgring Nordschleife. Automakers have put their latest and greatest technology to the test as they try to achieve the fastest lap time on what has become the standard across the industry for evaluating a car’s performance.
It was only a few years ago that the seven-minute barrier was broken by a production car and only a few have surpassed it since. The new Lamborghini Aventador LP 750-4 SV is one of those elite few.
During Pirelli P Zero Corsa tire development testing for the new supercar, the team was able to reach an incredible 6:59.73 time, just narrowly breaking the legendary mark. The 740 horsepower, carbon-fiber-clad supercar with all-wheel drive was able to slip and slide through the dangerous curves of the ‘Ring at the hands of a very talented test driver and put itself in a very exclusive performance club.
