Twin-turbo madness.
The F10 BMW M5 and the Nissan GT-R are two cars that aren’t often compared to each other. The GT-R is a more affordable super car, whereas the F10 BMW M5 is more of a super performance sedan. AutoCar however, believed that the two cars have more in common than we may believe, and put each through a series of tests to see who would come out on top.
Now both cars do cost close to $100,000 stock, and feature twin-turbocharged engines that produce over 540 horsepower. The Nissan GT-R may have two less cylinders and 20 fewer ponies, but it is an agile, all-wheel drive two-door that has taken down other, more powerful super cars before.
The F10 BMW M5 packs a twin-turbocharged V-8 engine under the hood and 560 horsepower with classic rear-wheel drive. It also weighs just under 400 lbs. less than the Nissan GT-R, but lacks the asphalt-gripping all-wheel drive system of the Japanese super car.
The team at AutoCar put the two cars through tests to see who performed the best, then picked a winner based on the results. The outcome may be a bit obvious before watching the video, but we’re not going to spoil it for you.
