When Revving goes Wrong.
We’ve all heard the stories of Italian super cars going up in flames. We don’t want to believe them since these cars are just so spectacular both visually and performance-wise, but it’s a stigma that cars from this region of the world just can’t seem to kick – even today.
While driving through Dubai, this owner of a Lamborghini Aventador SV Roadster was stopped at an intersection behind a selfie-stick-wielding Ferrari. The Lamborghini driver began revving the mighty 6.5-liter V-12 engine to show off as it spit out flames from its exhaust while he made hand gestures towards the camera to show just how cool he was.
Unfortunately (and unbeknownst to the driver), the flames coming from the exhaust appear to have been caught in a gust of wind, which blew them back towards the body and through the mesh, starting the exotic on fire.
After the fire started, the driver behind the Lamborghini began to shout and others honked their horn to alert the driver of the Lamborghini to no avail. The Lamborghini driver sped away and later came to a stop when the car began to burn and become engulfed in the flames.
Unfortunately, the car burned to the ground. One more exotic was lost to the Italian horsepower gods…
