A classic meets a wall.
The Arosa ClassicCar hill climb takes place every year in Switzerland between Langwies and Arosa and sees cars from Group C and IMSA, along with ones built between 1905 and 1985 racing for the top spot. The 2014 race was the setting for one awful crash of a 1973 Porsche 911 RSR IROC.
The winding 7.8 km course from Langwies to Arosa has 76 turns and an altitude change of 422 meters. Just like any hill climb race, it’s a difficult and tricky test of driver skill that can sometimes result in some bad accidents.
The 2014 event saw a 1973 Porsche 911 RSR IROC driven by Reto Toscan lose control and run right into a metal barrier, launching it into the air. Thankfully, the driver was not injured in the crash but five spectators received minor injuries.
