The Ultimate Endurance Race.
Le Mans has been the setting for many of the most dramatic and incredible stories for the 90 years. The 2013 race was nothing short of dramatic as it saw the untimely passing of a very talented driver that sent shockwaves throughout the racing world.
It also saw the battle of two powerhouses as they battled to take the checkered flag. The 2012 race saw the new Toyota Racing TS030 Hybrid LMP1 car make its debut and while it put up a good fight, both entries had to end their day early. This year, Toyota was back and had their sights set on the podium.
With Anthony Davidson, Stéphane Sarrazin, and Sébastien Buemi behind the wheel, the No.8 TS030 Hybrid was able to achieve a second-place finish, only behind the legendary team of Allan McNish, Tom Kristensen, and Loïc Duval of Audi Sport Team Joest. They battled through the rain, night, and numerous incidents to reach the podium in just their second race. Audi better watch out in 2014.
