What if the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG was a Shooting Brake?

Because why not?

The new thing that all the cool kids in the automotive world are doing is creating some sort of Shooting Brake model. Who doesn’t like a four-seat version of their favorite super car with more trunk space, right? Just look at the Ferrari FF. You know, that four-wheel drive super car that everybody seemed to hate due to its design and four-seat capability because “It’s not a true Ferrari.” But when they’re in concept/design study form, they’re the greatest things ever and need to be produced ASAP. So what happens when our friends at CarThrottle applies the shooting brake design to the SLS? A beautiful concept car of course!

The folks over at CarThrottle teamed up with YouDesign to create two renderings of what the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG would look like with a little more junk in the trunk. The shooting break design would keep the car’s original 4638 mm length and 2075 mm width along with its iconic Gullwing doors (as if those would be removed) but add on two extra seats and 176 liters of luggage space in the back.

Under the hood would be the same hand-built 6.2-liter naturally aspirated V-8 with 563 horsepower and 479 lb-ft. of torque driving the rear wheels and flying to speeds over 190 mph with ease. This time around though, four people will be able to enjoy the performance of the Gullwing super car. As with any car that has a bit of sheetmetal added on, there will see a very slight decrease in overall acceleration and top speed, but will still be a hoot to drive.

After all, why enjoy the SLS AMG’s performance with just one other person when you can have an extra party of three?
