Grunting Gold Glory.
The new Mercedes-AMG GT is a dream for aftermarket companies. It has the looks of a true sports car, is packed with potential, and can be mean as all hell. The new WheelsandMore Mercedes-AMG GT S Startrack 6.3 might not be packed with a laundry list of upgrades, but it throws one heck of a punch.
To start things off, the hand-built 4.0-liter, twin-turbocharged V-8 engine was modified with a few new goodies to produce all sorts of power and make its presence known. A new set of 100-cell sports catalytic converters flow into a valve-controlled exhaust to reduce backpressure. New sports air filters easily bring greater amounts of fresh air into the engine more efficiently. After a software tune, the WheelsandMore Mercedes-AMG GT S Startrack 6.3 produces 626 horsepower and 568 lb-ft. of torque. That pushes the top speed back to 199 mph.
While the 4.0-liter V-8 engine makes itself known through its intimidating sound and brutal acceleration, the new three-piece F.I.W.E. forged wheels grab attention visually. The WheelsandMore Mercedes-AMG GT S Startrack 6.3 was given a set of the in-house forged alloys wearing a full matte black finish with accents that match the body color of the sports car. Up front, the F.I.W.E. wheels measure 9.0 x 21 with 245/30/21 Michelin Pilot Supersport tires, while the rear comes in with a wide 11.5 x 21 setup with 305/25/21 tires.
To complete the Startrack 6.3 transformation, WheelsandMore gave the Mercedes-AMG GT S with a specially-designed suspension lift system. The system is the first ever customized for the German sports car and works directly with the factory adjustable coil springs to lift the front axle by 30 mm at the touch of a button to prevent damage over obstacles.
While it doesn’t sound like an outrageous list of upgrades, the WheelsandMore Mercedes-AMG GT S Startrack 6.3 is ready to make an impression visually and from inside the cockpit. The full upgrade program is currently available or customers can opt for individual accessories.
