Full Force 200+ mph AMG.
The engineers at Wimmer RST have a knack for exploiting an engine’s full potential, and with the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG, the German tuner brings the pain. Not only does the engine get pushed beyond the 600-horsepower mark, but the speed-limiter has also vanished and a new set of motorsport wheels have been added.
The 6.2-liter already has a higher output than its German competition with 451 horsepower stock, but the V-8 is capable of much greater power figures. The engineers at Wimmer RST began the transformation by reworking the cylinder head and installing sport camshafts. Then, the exhaust manifold, downpipe, and stainless steel exhaust system with high-flow catalytic converters were added, giving the 6.2-liter a fierce growl. The engine tuning is finished with an optimized air intake, sport air filters, and a retuned ECU to boost output to a monstrous 601 horsepower and 531 lb-ft. of torque. The added power, along with the removal of the top speed limiter, allows the C63 AMG to reach a top speed of 204.43 mph (329 km/h).
While the 601 horsepower was impressive, it did create traction issues. To solve this, Wimmer has replaced the stock wheels with a set of BBS CH-R alloys measuring 8.5 x 19 at the front and 9.5 x 19 at the rear. The wheels are fitted with new 235/35-19 front and 365/35-19 rear Dunlop high performance rubber for greater grip. The stock suspension also receives some tweaks from Wimmer, giving the sedan precise handling.
The Wimmer RST Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG tuning program is currently available from the German tuning company. The engine tuning is priced at € 19,900 (+/- 28,200 USD), while the suspension is available for € 3,600 (+/- 5,100 USD). Pricing for the wheel and tire package have not been released.
