The KTM X-Bow is the ultimate street-legal racer that benefits from all sorts of motorsports experience and design. It’s not made for daily driving; it’s built to have fun and put a big smile on driver’s faces. The folks at Wimmer RST have taken a KTM X-Bow GT and transformed it into the Dubai Gold Edition for one special client.
The KTM X-Bow GT is impressive right off the factory floor. It’s packed with all sorts of lightweight carbon fiber aerodynamics, a flat underbody and rear diffuser, WP Suspension setup, and Brembo brakes along with a turbocharged inline-four cylinder engine that puts down quite a bit of power in stock form.
The engine was the main focus in this special project for Wimmer RST. The 2.0-liter turbo with an output of 285 horsepower and 310 lb-ft. of torque in stock form was given a hefty boost from a new software tune and a few other goodies. In total, 200 additional horsepower and 74 lb-ft. of torque were unleashed for an output of 485 horsepower and 384 lb-ft. of torque. That means that the lightweight X-Bow Dubai Gold Edition can sprint to 62 mph from rest in a mere 2.97 seconds and hit 124 mph in just 9.9 ticks of the clock.
The Wimmer RST team did add a few exterior goodies as well. A number of parts along the front and rear were given a shimmering gold wrap, hence the Dubai Gold Edition name. A large carbon fiber rear spoiler was also added to generate downforce for even better handling dynamics.
